Pastor's Place

February

Winter is a cold and long season especially here in the Northeast. By now in February everyone is looking for a change. Some go south to warmer climates many just stay here and bear the freezing temperatures and snow and ice. Our sins also leave us cold and frozen. Just as we long for more sunshine and warmer days, we long to be free from our sins. As we enter the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday, this year February 25, we realize that God our Father has sent His Son Jesus to melt away our sins. It certainly was not easy to endure all that Jesus endured. He, who knew no sin, became willingly sin for us. He took God’s anger, punishment and separation so that we would never have to receive it. We hope that this Lenten season will be a time for you to grow closer to the Lord and experience His forgiveness and love. Worship midweek, Wednesday nights; join us for light supper and worship with us with a series entitled, By His Stripes, Healing Wounded Relationships. Of course the relationship most wounded is our relationship with our Lord. As He heals that relationship, our other relationships can begin to heal as well. Warmer weather is sure to come. Our relationship to the Lord no longer has to be cold either. It is my prayer that you will experience God’s warmth and forgiveness especially. The winter will soon be over and for that we rejoice. Your sins have been forgiven and for that rejoice even more! God’s peace be yours.
