Springtime is a season of the year when we witness new life. All around us trees are budding; flowers are poking through the ground and beginning to bloom. The world springs to life! It also happens that Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord is in the month of April this year. Just as winter releases the long dormant life, so the cold fingers of death releases our Savior Jesus the Christ after three days in the tomb of Joseph of Arimethea. Death could not hold the Lord of Life. This is great news indeed! Jesus Christ is alive! Because He lives, all the faithful who trust in Him have new life also. In the spring of the year the darkness gives way to longer and light filled days. The darkness of our sinfulness gives way to the light of forgiveness and love! We are freed from sin’s icy hold and set free from the power of the darkness of the Evil One. This is truly a time for rejoicing. We also have the privilege of letting the whole world know about this Life. All who call on the name of the Lord, we are told in the Scriptures, are saved. The world so filled with hopelessness, now has hope again. Our worst enemy, Death, cannot inflict fear and despair upon us any longer. Death becomes for us an open door to everlasting Life.

It is our prayer for you that this celebration of Easter and resurrection will be especially joyful. We hope you will be on hand in church to sing the Alleluias and enjoy the fellowship of other Christians set free from the power of death. Our Resurrection celebration will be on April 8th @ 10:30 am. Come, celebrate and enjoy your new life in Christ Jesus our resurrected Lord!
